dr who! (5x10? i think?)

so i have now seen an episode of dr who with eleven, who is adorable, and amy is adorable, and they are completely adorable together. (seriously. they're both really cute. the doctor is also kind of a dork and i like that in a person. :D ) does he always come across as kind of awkwardly flirty, tho?

and if you know anything about my fannish history you'll know why this is the one episode i bothered to download.

namely, TONY CURRAN WAS IN IT AND HE DID NOT DIE.

well, he did, but off-screen. which is ok.

he makes a good van gogh. the straw hat is a good look for him. and i loved how much he was attracted to amy. dozens of children! the ultimate ginger! hee. and yes i know vincent's story ended badly but the melancholy in this episode was still unexpected. i felt bad for the, uh, mutant alien chicken. (well that's what it looked like....) it was just alone and scared and somewhere it didn't know, and vincent kind of killed it by mistake. :(

but man, listening to him explain what he saw when he looked up at the sky, that was fantastic. and he never really liked sunflowers, altho he thought they were kind of interesting, and he painted them for amy. and the museum guide, at the very end, talking about van gogh's passion and how he (the guide) thought he (van gogh) was the greatest painter ever - while van gogh was standing right there - i may or may not have sniffled.

"but i still can't believe one of the haystacks was in the museum. how embarrassing." HEE. god, he's cute.

still kind of melancholy, tho.

is there a point to asking if there's van gogh/gauguin slash out there somewhere? i mean, i'm pretty sure the answer's yes.
