anonymousblack (who deserves more things to be squeeful about), and on-time birthday to
moonmelody (who is indeed a squeeful fangirl and really cute about it). cake for all!
dancing boys: *conga line*
this morning my boss lost one of the lenses out of his glasses and i spent about twenty minutes walking very carefully around the office and looking at the floor. (turns out it fell out in his house.)
hands up everyone who knows spanish! *counts hands* can someone go to
this page on the spanish rail web site and tell me what "cama gran clase", "cama preferente", and "cama turista" entail? they're different classes of overnight train compartments. the links are on the right. i tried to figure it out with an online spanish-english dictionary but i don't have a whole lot of faith in my ability to translate a language i don't know, even with dictionary assistance, and about all i could be sure of was that cama turista means four beds to a compartment and cama preferente means the compartment comes with a sink. so an actual translation by someone who knows what they're doing would be super helpful.
what else did i need to know.... is jason manns married? if yes, what's his wife's name? (if not, can i make her up? :D ) because she has a teeny cameo in my bigbang and i kind of want to get her name right. i'll be nice to her, worry not. but otherwise i still have no idea what i'm doing.
dear romance/erotica authors and blurbers of same,
please for the love of roget come up with a word other than "lover" to describe someone(s) with whom the main character has a relationship. if you've been exclusively involved with the same person(s) for, say, five or six years, and you live together and are committed to making a life together, you've kind of gone past the "lover" stage. a lover is someone you're having an affair with, or someone you really only see for the hot sex. when you get into the long term and all the emotionally invested bits and pieces, you need a new word.
annoyed by the lack of imagination and persistence of the trope,
