saw julie & julia last night with my sister and it made me want to go to paris and eat. oh baby. (it didn't quite make me want to learn french cooking, tho.) it's so sweet and has some funny bits and some slightly sad bits (i kept waiting for something really horrible to happen but thankfully nothing does) and yes, it's about sticking with something that changes your life (in julie's case) and the lives of countless people you'll never meet (in julia's case), but it's really a movie about these two women who just love food - making it, eating it, taking the opportunity to share it. and as i am also a woman who loves food, i can totally get behind that.
plus which, the way they made meryl streep look six feet tall is pretty impressive. and she and stanley tucci (who plays julia's husband paul) are so, so cute.
go see it. it is completely adorable.
have some links. :D
bald pengin gets wetsuit to prevent sunburn - he molted all his old feathers before growing new ones, so the keepers at the park where he lives made him a wetsuit. (from

bob dylan mistaken for hobo - he was looking at some house for sale in the rain, and the cop who answered the "there's this strange disheveled man in our yard" call didn't recognize him. i probably shouldn't laugh, but... i did. (also from
