oh, this is going to be a nerd-heavy episode, isn't it. i hopehopehope they poke fun at the spn comics. and possibly the actual show.... and fangirls. and slashers. hee.
those of you who were wondering how much the ptb know about what we say about the show and the boys? the answer seems to be A LOT.
the blurb from tv guide online said comic books, tho, and these are novels. i was so looking forward to some nice smacktalk about origins.
chuck talking about all the shit he put the boys through, and apologizing for it, seems a little TOO meta. and admitting he thinks writing sam drinking ruby's blood makes him unsympathetic sounds as if the writers of this episode are using chuck as a mouthpiece for some of the fan reactions they've seen, or a way to reassure us that the ptb really do know and care what we think.

dean's right, tho - they're not ready to take lilith down. no doubt sam thinks he is, but seriously, no, he's not. and i'm really resistant to the idea that stopping the apocalypse comes down to him - like i'm really resistant to the idea of it all being on dean - because the show is about both brothers, and both brothers should be equally responsible for saving the world.
the idea of this schlubby, unshaven, purple-prose writer being a prophet kind of cracks me up. he's his own mary sue. hee.

you are a dumbass, dean winchester. if you leave your brother alone at that motel you are a dumbass. and you, sammy, are a dumbass for thinking you can take lilith all by yourself. she's more powerful than alistair, and she's WAY more powerful than you. not. a. chance.
is castiel trying to tell dean that if he can get lilith to threaten chuck, he can get an archangel to come down and destroy her? i think he is. i think i like that. sneaky, castiel, very sneaky. two thumbs up.
i'm going to guess that dean gets chuck to the motel before lilith and sam get totally nekkid, altho i'd be very surprised if lilith threatens chuck such that the promised archangel appears and causes her some death. because if they toast lilith, who are they going to fight next season?
please do not tell me sam is seriously going to give up his and dean's lives to prevent the apocalypse. there's self-sacrifice and then there's this. didn't lilith say she doesn't survive the war? could he not take that to mean that he gets powerful enough to take her on and destroy her in future?
i have to say, i prefer the angry ass-kicking do-not-fuck-with-me dean to the emo angsty i-can't-do-this dean. anger looks better on winchesters than woe. (anger of winchester towards winchester doesn't count.)
chuck just saw the end. poor guy. i feel bad for him - he can see all this horrible shit that's going to happen, and he can't do a damn thing about it.
(my reaction to the coming scenes? "oh come on! you are fucking kidding me!" in the very loud, very annoyed tone of voice that makes me glad i no longer have a roommate. and makes me not very inclined to watch 4x19.)
