buffy the vampire slayer, abridged - all seven seasons condensed into a little over three minutes. fantastic. (link from

a few years ago i made a wee accordion book with three short stories in it, which i always forget about because it's the only accordion book i've ever made outside a class. out of sight out of mind, i guess. (have i ever mentioned that i don't make books for myself? i make them and send them out into the world and pray i take enough good pictures of them before they go.)
anyway. i remembered it last night and spent some quality time looking for the photos so i could scan them and share them, because once i remember i made the thing, i'm really proud of it.
it's 4" x 4" and ties with yellow ribbon. all my (non-leather) books have ribbons on them. i like ribbon. the little gold star is covering up a random glue spot that dried dark. it's not a mistake, it's a design element. :D
untied! it's sitting on my bed but i have no idea what it's propped up against. a photo album, i think.
there are three stories inside, two on one side of the accordion and one on the other. they were originally posted in
women_ - i didn't write them, i just made the book for the girl who did. i think i just picked three i liked and arranged them so they fit in the book. the first one's about sheherazade, because, you know, she was a storyteller.
this is what it looks like open. the second story on this side is eve, hence the green apple. i didn't make the graphics either, but i liked them better than using titles. i laid out the text on 11" x 17" paper, which required a bunch of strips that i had to glue together. i'm pretty proud of the way it worked out.
guinevere's on the other side. her story was long enough to take up the whole length of the accordion.
bendy! the ribbon was glued to the back cover, so it would tie over the front and tell you where to start reading.
the whole thing stretched out on my floor. it's 5'4" pulled flat, but i didn't bother to take a picture of it like that. i mean, i'm 5'4". that's a lot of accordion book.
