things what are generally pretty neat
2008 gets a leap second - not that anyone will really notice, but it keeps the atomic clocks accurate.... a leap second, hee.
can i just say, i like my friends. not just because you agree with me when i think someone is behaving badly, but also because you're a weird bunch of people, and i mean that in the most complimentary way possible. also you make me laugh when i'm at work. so hey, everyone reading this right now, pat yourself on the back for being a generally nifty and entertaining human being. :D
also in the "people are generally pretty damn cool" department: bunnymcfoo has so far received upwards of $2000 in donations to buy clothes for the kids at a local shelter for homeless teens. i think her original goal was something like $200.
i finally made my holiday card list last night, and discovered that i have enough stamps (yay) but not enough cards (oy). fortunately the bookstore across the street from the office still has some nice non-religious holiday cards with snow (tm), so i'm now all carded up. and i remembered two people i'd forgotten to put on the list. >.< i make no promises when anyone will get their cards, because i am slow like a slow thing, but at least it will (theoretically) still be december.
