You know you're a total, total nerd when you're thinking of your journal content in terms of retrospective and prospective memory (ex. my upcoming To-Do list) and why some things have been forgotten and what memories have been altered possibly. But yesterday's Memory class was on metamemory, so I'm gonna blame it on that.
Retrospectively...
Last week:
- was March Break, so I didn't have to go to the high schools (yay), though I still had to teach piano (not so yay).
- ...so I got to have lunch with Jessica, who now works with Liz - small world indeed = ) ,
- ...and I also got to see captals_avatar, earbox, torricus, and pretentiousgit for a mini-mini-LAN party (as Laine called it), aka a mini DS party, which was lots and lots of yay and also resulted in Ian getting a DS, heehee. The world should be made of go-karts and item boxes every once in a while. *nods*
- I ended up being a huuuuge slacker all week and basically didn't do any homework at all,
- ...though I ironically skipped one class to help Chilton mark papers, heh (he's so slow at it, silly).
This week:
- has me frantically going omg homework, because I didn't do any last week, and classes end in 2.5 weeks.
- we did -not- get our Psych test back yet, waah. I wanna know how I did so I can guess-timate my mark.
- is kinda sucky, I have to say, or maybe that's just because my girl-problems have mysteriously stayed for an extra, heavier week (so what, was last week a fake period or something??? make up your mind, reprod. system *glares*),
- ...but at least last night Liz, Sage, Ji, and I had a mini-Mario Kart party at Ji's (whee, red shells!!!). I would like to say that MK Wii is crazy disappointing. That is all. (Bring back multiplayer Grand Prix!!!)
- ...but this resulted in Liz and me not getting enough sleep last night, although that was also in part because we just stayed up grumbling about things
- at least Liz, Chil, and I finally went to have pho together (it's been a while, yes), though prices keep going up and that is just not cool.
Prospectively...
The end of the school year means summertime, for which I have not made any plans. I'm applying for front-desk reception work at New again, but I have to admit that I'm tired of being around New College. When Toronto gets its act together and posts their job listings for SEP, I'll be applying to those too. And of course I'll still be teaching piano. But I'd like to make more money than just that.
As for next "school year", I just heard back from New College and they've rejected my donning application. It's never great to be turned down for a job, of course, but I have to say that I'm really not all that sad. I think that might be because of all the craziness happening admin-wise. New doesn't seems to be going in a direction I'm all that happy with, for which I'm pretty sad. But Sage has definitely influenced my thoughts on this matter. The less drama in my life, the better. Of course, I still don't know anything about Teacher's College yet...but I'll know soon. And that's all I'm gonna say. I'm a person who would rather think about things I have control over, and at this point that is not one of them.
Last but not least (though it has been a while), my to do list from now til the end of classes (I warned you, didn't I?):
-meeting with Bio group for project (ugh, why?)
-Mandarin oral presentation/essay (Mar 30th)
-Bio paper (Mar 31st)
-Psych discussion questions (Mar 31st)
-Psych exam (Apr 7)
-catch up on Bio lectures (6 lectures behind, will become more since I won't have time this weekend)
-101 Goals update (by Mar 31st)
-write 3 more 50-word excerpts (I may have to give up on chocolate but I hope not)
-monitor SEP website for postings
-Psych experiment write-up
-finish at least half of one scarf for Jon
(Hmm, I can't remember any strategies for helping myself remember to do things in the future. At this rate I'm not gonna do well on my Psych test, heh.)
Tonight, though, I'm just gonna finish my resume and watch some Whose Line clips and video game reviews, Yahtzee-style. I totally did not sleep enough last night to do anything else. I think I need a hug. That was a stupidly long post.
PS: Yay!!!!!!!
natea21 got my package!!! *dances*
PPS: One of the things that makes me giddy-happy is seeing someone wear a scarf I made for them (or barring that, hearing about it). *glomps Tori, who would be the most recent case*
