...Wow. Just...wow. Rowlings does it again. Of course her fans are going to hate her now... Read the cut only if you don't mind spoilers. ( Harry Potter book spoiler: Do not read. )
Personally, I felt this as the book Rowlings used to separate the fans from the readers. What she did in the end is something I completely respect her for doing as sad as it made me. But she did what she had to do and I trust her choice in advancing the story. I knew Dumbledore was going to die sooner or later, and that's because it's the key to allow Harry to be able to move on and carry his fate.
The whole Tonks thing I agree with. Tonks was just sorta there as was Lupin and some of the other Order of the Phoneix members. Hagrid left the scene as well and so did Snape for the most part until the end. Lots of things felt like they were left out, and this felt like an entirely different book. Apparation didn't go indepth nor did the Defense Against the Dark Arts. Kinda wished Rowlings explained more about those... After all, Dark Arts Defense, Hagrid, and Snape were all important parts of the previous five books.
I can't say whether or not I'm disappointed or impressed with this book. I got a mutual feeling for either. Just reading this book felt like a game of waiting for a specific event to happen. Quidditch just sorta flew by (no pun intended) to add a few more pages to the book as opposed to being a part of the actual story. It's really hard for me to express my feelings about this book.
