Chapter Eight - Voltage Fury
The flickers crackled upon the walls, slowly but forcefully growing to blinding flashes that made the darkness shudder. After years of suspension, the needles on the many meters came to life, swerving to try and detect the unstable charges within the massive hall.
The charges took the form of branching bolts, dancing around a lone figure standing in the centre of the room. The light bulbs flickered, some burst, earning a frown from the young man.
“Ryosuke?”
“Yuyan, can we talk?”
With a lurch and a thud, the machine nearest to the man came to a sudden start.
“If I believe that something may be for the best and I act upon that belief, knowing it might hurt the people that trust me…what will that make me?”
“Hmm… selfish,”
“I thought so,”
“What’s wrong?”
“I have to go Yuyan,”
“Where?”
“Back,”
“What do you mean back? Back to where?”
“Away from all of you…it’s the only way,”
“Ryosuke…don’t be ridiculous,”
“There is no other way, I don’t know how to explain it to you, I wish I could,”
“Why won’t you tell us? We can get through anything as long as we work together!”
“Not this, you should have left me there, at sector 89…saving me…was the biggest mistake,”
“Have you lost it?”
“I’m a lost cause Yuyan, the Ryosuke you knew is dead, I’m nothing but a threat…,”
“…,”
“Please, don’t stop me…the organization will not hurt you or the people we love if I go to them,”
“How can you be sure about that?”
The look on the younger boy’s face…made a chill run down his spine.
“I intend to see to it, that they keep their promise,”
“You can’t just…leave Ryosuke,”
“They will come for me, sooner or later,”
“Then I’ll come after them, I will crush them for sure!”
“You can’t, they have too many secrets, too many methods of protection,”
“They don’t know who they are messing with; they don’t know OUR strength,”
“I don’t want you to go on another hunt for me,”
ldquo; It’s not going to be a hunt Ryosuke, it’s going to be a war .”
He could feel the heat in the air. From behind his closed eyelids, he could still sense the blinding light. The charges played upon his physique, mere tickles on his skin. His eyes snapped open, bloodshot as he focused on the meters, watching as the intensity displayed escalated, as his blood pumped faster through his veins.
“It’s going to be a war.”

“Has anyone seen Yuya?” Hikaru asked, weary eyes wandering over and around the room. Sakura looked up from the lady she had been tending to, scanned the lobby and shook her head. He sighed, feeling a little worried. After finding out about Ryosuke, the older boy had marched out of the hotel without a word a few hours ago, in the rain and had yet to return. Leaving the rest of the boys to assist Sakura with the recovering staff and guests he made his way upstairs, to the room he and Yuya shared. Opening the door he found Kota with a relieved smile on his face, helping Daiki into a sitting position.
“How are you chibi? Got us all worried,” he spoke casually, leaning against the doorframe.
The younger boy did his best to muster up a glare.
“Sorry,” he croaked wryly, taking the bottle of water Kota offered.
“Sakura says all the people downstairs are fine, besides the mild headaches and nose bleeds of course, she’s told them all to get MRI’s or something,”
“I wonder what happened,” he continued with a sigh.
“Suzuka,” Daiki answered, pulling the blanket closer to himself.
“Huh?”
“The girl who did this, her name was Suzuka,”
“A girl did this?”
Hikaru and Kota shared a look of apprehension.
“She, blocked my telekinesis, she’s done it before, she gave me this awful headache…I couldn’t even think straight…she said she was trying to distract me…until something was done…,&rdquo
“Ryosuke,” Kota sighed.
“What?”
Kota squeezed Daiki’s shoulder, leaning close and almost whispered;
“They took him,”
“He left Kota, he left with Quicksilver…that girl was probably one of them,”
Kota glared at Hikaru who merely shrugged in return as Daiki stared forwards, too stunned to speak.
Just then, the lights started flickering.

It took Ryutaro a while to fully grasp the situation. What was the older guy thinking?
He looked around anxiously and sighed in relief as he spotted no one. The place was completely deserted. The rain had stopped a while ago and the swings of the playground next to the factory creaked as the chilly breeze drifted through the humid atmosphere. He glared at the building before him, frowning as bluish light flashed at the windows. He could feel the static in the air, in his hair, it made his skin crawl.
His eyes widened and he staggered backwards as the street lights started to flicker, the electric lines crackled, sparking now and then.
“Yuya what are you doing?” He gasped.
Almost on instinct he held up his hands as if trying to gather the leaking energy into one place. He found himself panting as a massive field of energy formed around the factory vicinity, its translucent walls holding in wild bolts now emanating from the walls and pipes. That was even more worrisome, everything was so wet.
“YUYA!” he yelled as loudly as he could, afraid that the older boy might end up hurting himself in his frenzy. The windows began to crack and exploded, all at once and Ryutaro was flung backwards with a gasp.
Coming to, he massaged his aching neck before getting to his feet immediately. The factory was on higher grounds so he could see that the entire town was now enshrouded in darkness. Pulling out a small pen torch from his pocket he proceeded towards the entrance. Bending down he reached for the latch but jerked his hand back as he felt a small shock from the metallic handle. Sighing, he clenched his fingers together, eyes upon the latch and pushed his hand upwards through the air, smiling in triumph as the door creaked, shuddered and then slid up.
Carefully he stepped inside. He swept his light through the large hall, stopping at a body crumpled on the ground.
“Yuya!” he shouted, rushing to his side. He touched the boy carefully, breathing out a sigh of relief as he did not get electrocuted. He wrapped his arms around the older boy before pulling him into a sitting position. Yuya groaned.
“You could have killed yourself, what were you thinking?” chided the younger boy. Yuya rubbed his eyes and yawned. Ryutaro face palmed.
“Idiot,”
“Whaaaaaaaat? I was just practising!”
“You’ve blown a major fuse somewhere, the whole town’s in the dark!”
“Whoops,”
“Not whoops, get up we need to get back to the others,”
“Wait, not yet…I’ve almost had it,”
“What?”
“Watch,”
Ryutaro frowned as Takaki held up his hand. His eyes widened as a tiny spark came to life, hovering a little over the surface of his palm.
“I know what I’m doing now,” he gushed excitedly as the spark radiated like a little star. Ryutaro sighed and brought his hands together, gently as if cupping the air around the charges. Yuya watched curiously as Ryu guided the little ball of energy to the highest point near the ceiling before releasing it as a flashing blast that made the foundations of the building shudder.
He smirked.
“Yeah, so do I.”

Ryosuke grimaced at the black strip of cloth being held before him.
"Why this?"
The girl sighed.
"You need to put this on before we take you into the Heli, Professor's orders,"
He groaned.
"Okay whatever,"
She rolled her eyes, shifting behind his seat and puling him roughly against the back rest. Ryosuke yelled as she forcefully tied the blindfold around him.
"Gently babes, you've heard the old man,"
Ryosuke frowned at the slightly familiar voice as he was grabbed by the arm and pulled out of the vehicle.
"Why do I always get struck with brats?" she retorted, slamming the door shut. Ryosuke shuddered at the cold wind brushing his bare neck, before an arm was draped around him. The other person smelled strongly of caramel.
"Let's take you to your new home ne...little brother."
