Chapter Two - Privacy
Miyano Sakura sighed heavily, fingers rubbing circles on her aching temple. She gazed weakly at the unconscious figure on the couch before casting her gaze around the apartment. It was right next door to her own but she hadn’t been in here ever since she started on her father’s project. Now that she was coming to terms with the fact that she had always been very easy to read and Aoi, the person she had known her whole life was probably the first person she had started avoiding, too afraid to have her secrets discovered.
But here he was lying on his own couch after witnessing the results of her ‘secret life’.
She turned to watch Ryosuke walk out of the bathroom, tugging a sweat shirt down his scar-less abdomen. It was a wonder. She never thought this was the extent of the drug.
“So you’re saying the bullet just, flowed out of the wound with your blood and then your body started healing rapidly…,”
Ryosuke nodded, dropping himself onto the armchair next to her.
“And Aoi saw everything?”
“Isn’t it lucky that you know him? I was almost about to call Yabu-kun for help before deciding against it, I don’t want the whole gang to panic for something so trivial,”
Sakura frowned at the way Ryosuke had said it, something seemed off.
“So, how are you planning to explain this to him anyway?” he then asked her, looking completely laid back. She shrugged and heaved a heavy sigh.
“Tell him the truth,”
Her eyes snapped to him and her jaw dropped.
“What? Tell him the truth? Do you think he would even believe me?”
“What’s there to not believe? Even if this seems crazy it would make more sense if you tell him the whole story than just make up some excuse, he’s bound to catch on anyway,”
Sakura chewed her bottom lip, eyes upon her sleeping friend.
“I’m going to head back, tell Hayato I say thanks for the clothes…and Sakura…think about it, you know him best and we might need another confidante,”
As she watched the boy leave the apartment, Aoi stirred in his sleep.

“Where the hell were you?”
Ryosuke sighed, hands in his pocket, eyes on the floor.
Kota and Hikaru looked at each other, having rushed back to the apartment as soon as Sakura had called and informed them that Ryosuke was with her.
“I ran into somebody at the store, he needed help, I just went and dropped him back home, turned out he was Sakura’s neighbor…that’s all,”
“If that was all, why did you do it?”
Ryosuke looked up at the frustration evident in Daiki’s face and frowned as he realized what the other meant.
“You can’t peek into my consciousness like that whenever you want, I need my privacy,” he replied firmly. Daiki was furious.
“I WAS WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU!”
“Tch, you didn’t have to…that’s why I kept you out…of my head…geez why are you getting so worked up?”
Kei grabbed hold of Daiki because it seemed like the latter was about to wrap his hands around Ryosuke’s throat. Ryosuke on the other hand had gone back to staring at the floor, aware of every judging gaze in the room.
“Your brothers are different from you and when they will come to realize this gap, of how you are what they should have become but were left incomplete, they will alienate themselves from you…envy you…fear you…,”
“Ryosuke, the news channel reported a robbery, the culprits took two young men hostage as they fled the shop. Since the store is close to here and the one we commonly visit so it was only natural for us to get worried, but you’re here and fine so that’s that…let’s all go to bed,”
Kota ignored the protest in everyone’s stare and stood his ground. He wouldn’t budge till the boys retired to their rooms, all except Ryosuke.
“I’m really glad you’re okay,” he insisted, face as calm as ever, a relieved smile on his lips. Ryosuke looked up at him, eyes teary and flashing with pure disbelief. They stared at each other for a few minutes before Ryosuke announced faintly.
“I’ll take the couch for tonight,”
Kota nodded and left to get him a blanket and pillow.
He was drifting away…slowly but surely and he could only pray that his approach on the younger was the best option.

A/N: Half of this chapter was an answer to the question most of you had about the severed telepathic connection between Daiki and Ryosuke. The latter learned how to keep Daiki out himself. Feedback welcomed!!
