It started with a call from Sean about a new client, a Mark Zuckerberg. Sean said he’d pay for everything. He just wants to get his friend, this Mark, laid, because he’s a workaholic.
“Sean, you know my requirements. Why would I be interested in this Mark guy?”
“He’s the inventor of Facebook.”
“Impressive. But I’ve had Nobel Peace Prize winners, Olympic gold medalists and Academy Awardees.”
“You have to meet him. He will lead you on a merry chase.”
“I’m really kinda busy, Sean.”
“Just meet him and if you afterwards, you don’t feel that getting him to nail you is a challenge, I’d double your fee and send you flowers and an apology.”
“Hmph. They’d better be Cattleyas from Brazil.”
“Promise.”
“Okay, what’s the address?”
Eduardo has never exerted this much effort just to meet some guy. Sean told him that he has to perform a capoeira number in the Facebook office for a “Fitness Friday” promo they’re having at the office. So he contacted dancers he knew from his gym and tried to get a decent routine together.
The Facebook people are too kind.
“You are too kind” Eduardo says with a big smile. The crowd keeps clapping minutes after they performed their little number at the makeshift stage on the executive level of the Facebook offices.
There are even catcalls from a red-haired guy who seems so cheerful and bouncy. He’s so unlike this short, curly-haired guy who has an unimpressed expression on his tired face. This is probably Mark, Eduardo thinks as he watches Mark make his way towards him with the red-haired guy behind him.
“What was that?” asks Mark with a stern voice.
“Capoeira?” replies Eduardo. He nods to the red-haired guy who keeps waving at him from behind Mark.
“I did not authorize that.”
“Really?” and Eduardo is a bit taken aback. Sean has assured him this was properly scheduled.
“It was unauthorized and disruptive. I don’t know how you were able to get here but I’m making sure you get out.” Mark looks to his left and points a finger at Eduardo. “Take him away, boys” he orders the security guards.
“Wait! You can’t do this to me!” Eduardo protests as he tries to get the beefy, callused fingers of the guards away from his bare arms.
“I just did” Mark says with a little smile and a hint of dimples. It would have been a nice smile if his eyes aren’t so cold, thinks Eduardo as he allowed the guards to escort him out.
“Parker, you’ll pay for this humiliation” he mutters under his breath as he starts his car. “As for you, Zuckerberg,” Eduardo says as he looks at the Facebook offices, “I’ll come back and show you how disruptive I could really be.”
