fill: he says he's no good with words but i'm worse. (1c/?)skipsMarch 10 2011, 23:02:46 UTC
He nods, before realizing that Andrew can't see the nod due to Jesse's position and for a brief moment he kind of wants to hit himself for forgetting that before he answers with actual words. "Yeah, I do HI, which I could be better at but it makes me less likely to have a panic attack unlike DI, so I stick with it regardless of how awful I might be at it."
"DI gives you panic attacks? Dare I ask why?"
Jesse rubs the back of his neck before he answers, as if that would make what he's about to say any less embarrassing. "It just does, because I get too much into character and I tend to pick pieces that aren't exactly normal and then when they're not normal there's a lot more freaking out and so and so on. So I end up having panic attacks. It's sad, but true. Kind of like most of my life." He eyes the last sheet of paper that hasn't been picked up and slowly picks it up before trying to give Andrew a smile that he hopes is sweet and not creepy. "And here's the last of the rogue papers. We're both running late, so we should go to our rooms."
Andrew shifts slightly on his feet, remembering that he does have a round to get to and that Carey is probably going to kill him for being this late. He doesn't exactly mind though, especially if it means being around Jesse. Or meeting Jesse in general. Probably both. He nods, beaming. "We do, don't we? I'll see you around, maybe even after this round and if you wanna talk, I'll be out of my round at the same time you'll be out of yours."
The look Jesse gives him is close to one that someone would give a person who grew an extra head. He coughs, feeling more awkward than usual before he answers. "I know we will be out around the same time. Maybe, I don't really know what school you go to, but I guess we'll see." He exhales before starting to walk off until he realizes he forgot to say something. "I'm sorry again for the tubs."
"It's fine, it'll make my next round an adventure in finding things." Andrew starts to roll his cart off to the room he's supposed to debate in after he says that only to turn around to say one last thing.
"It was nice meeting you, Jesse."
"You too." Jesse gives a tiny smile before finally heading down the hallway in a slight jog.
It's at that very moment that Andrew decides he needs to somehow become friends with that boy, because something told him deep down inside that this particular meeting was the beginning of a beautiful friendship and Andrew would be damned if he disagreed with the Casablanca-esque thought that his body had supplied. After all, there were far worse movie quotes to start off relationships of any kind with.

I'm glad you're loving it, since what an OP thinks of a fill I do always matters quite a bit to me. And if I don't update this coming week it's because I'm being dragged around to enjoy my spring break in ways that involve not being on my laptop, but I will most certainly update the week after, because I'll keep saying it, I love this AU idea and I have the best plans for it. (They're also very cliche and such, but whatever, Andrew and Jesse lend themselves to romantic cliches and tropes very easily.)
