Treadmill Theater: Trudging Through the Classics #8 - A Place in the Sun (part 1)
Not as much to say about this one, as compared to Sunrise.
Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters. According to the trailer, this movie stands alone amongst romantic dramas. I guess. It's like She's All That, but with less Matthew Lillard. No, that's not entirely right. Elizabeth Taylor is pretty, Shelly Winters is a little frumpy. Elizabeth Taylor has pretty clothes, and is shot in soft focus, so therefore she's the one that Montgomery Clift wants.
This movie seems to have the elements of a thriller, which wasn't what I expected. Don't go to the lake, Shelley!
