Two WHU's for the price of One - Holiday Edition!
The Holiday edition of the Weekly Hockey Update!!! Well, this means you get two, since I was in Maryland all last weekend, visiting the 'rents and playing WoW in their basement - "Dude, I was in my parents' BASEMENT!! Whoa!" - LOL. Even had Mom pissed at me and Derek for running an instance when a movie was on - ah, memories of my mom yelling at me and Derek. *snickerfit*
ANYWAYS!
I gave up one goal last week in an take-them-behind-the-woodshed-and kick-their-asses kinda way. We won 7-1 and it wasn't even close. I saw the puck really well, and if not for a 2-on-0 with 4 minutes left, I had a shutout. Ah, well, a W's a W - unless he's president (oh, noes! Political humor - or a not-so-reasonable facsimile of it). Last night, I only gave up 2 goals in a 2-2 tie. I hate ties. ALL of them. Saw the puck well that night too, stopped more than a plethora of breakaways (7 in a row at one point when my defense fell asleep), so all in all it was a good night. So that keeps the record at 6-2-1 with a GAA of 2.82. My goal is to try to get the GAA under 2.5 - we'll have to see how that works. LOL
Now, for Random News and Views, Holiday Edition. Since I've not done one of these in a while, I figured this would be a good time to try one! Hehe - I can do that, I'm the dad. :)
1. Wii Bowling is the BEST THING EVER.
2. Your hockey team gets pissed off ROYALLY when you bring every piece of equipment you need - except your cup. And then have to wait for the wife to bring it. Oh, and she "mutherfucked" me all the way down to the Cincinnati Gardens, too. No matter how nice she is, I can't see her NOT doing that. I'd have done it.
3. Being told that you are a "walking heart attack" by your doctor makes you re-evaluate pretty much everything.
4. Losing weight ROCKS.
5. Being able to still drop the People's Elbow on your brother at 43 years old? Priceless.
6. Getting told that you are a dick right after a glove save? Again, priceless.
7. Whooping my kids at the Wii video games is good for an old man's soul - I still got it! :)
8. Get a Blu-Ray player and HD TV. Just WOW!
So that's about it. I'll be trying out some more Wii games this evening, and even hauling my happy white ass to NcN in about 10 days. Should be fun, I don't go out of chapter alot, but since I've been getting railed on to go there, mind as well.
