I found myself idly wondering if I'd ever stayed at the same hotel in Las Vegas twice, and it took me a minute. I've stayed at the Plaza twice.

My favorite hotel stay in Vegas was at the Doubletree Club (Feb '06), a non-gaming hotel south of the strip. I had just spent two days on the strip at New York, New York, and it was a delight to settle into a hotel with decadent fluffy bed linens and friendly staff. The place felt so much more real than the strip. I don't recommend New York, New York.

I also have fond memories of the Orleans (Dec '02). The Stratosphere (Dec '02) sucked, and the Monte Carlo (Nov '02) was ordinary but tolerable.

Wow Tim what a list of hotel's that you have stayed at here in Vegas. I would recommend Main Street Station from your list. I normally like staying at the Golden Nugget (a little pricer than some places but normally worth it) when I am downtown for Barge and I don't want to drive home.

Main Street has to be my favorite. If the place had a poker room I think I'd cry. Actually, they need a coffee shop, too, but the brew pub isn't bad, it just doesn't serve breakfast.

Not only was my room very good, but the craps game there is the best downtown. Plus the beer is good.
