I got a pleasant phone call from Mr.Yamada today.
It looks like that there indeed may be an opportunity there still. Regarding the other guy that interviewed me and made the decision not to hire me: As it turns out, the guy that does want to hire has previously tried to fire the other guy. "Oh don't worry about him, he's an idiot," he said. XD
Nothing has been guaranteed yet, so it's still possible that nothing will materialize. It sounded promising though, and my international flavour is advantageous. The client needs to be pursuaded, so crossed fingers for that angle. There wouldn't even be another interview if the client says "OK".
It's funny how I was going to give Mr. Yamada a call soon myself. It's also funny how I recently posted that I wouldn't mind a miracle if one happens to be going my way and could give me a lift.
Now if only this canker would heal...
