I found you recently through your other website because I adore Natalie Portman. However, I don't know whether to set up an LJ for myself because everyone else seems to be very artistic, and I'm graphically challenged. Since finding your journal, I've been enjoying both your art and your prose. I haven't left a comment before because posting as "anonymous" seems tacky. Any idea how I can participate otherwise? I am a 22-year old from the Northeast and have identified with some of the situations you've chronicled.

I wouldn't let the graphics thing stop you. A lot of people on LJ don't have the first clue when it comes to graphics, it's just that LJ provides nice places for the graphically inclined to show off ;) You can get icons/banners/headers from other people (like me ;)

If you do decide to get a journal, pop back here so I friend you :) They're a lot of fun. I highly recommend LJ.

I set one up!! Now I just have to figure out a way to make it all pretty like everyone else's. You are so fortunate to have so much talent and to also be so computer-literate. I can do a decent amount on the computer, but absolutely *nothing* artistic.

Good enough :) But could you go ahead and friend me? Just click on that little guy next to my name. It'll take you to my user info where you click on *another* little guy, this time with a + sign to add me as a friend.

So esmereldapucks? You're going to have to explain that one to me sometime ;)

I feel like such an idiot. I don't know how to do anything in LJ! I hope I can handle the learning curve. I promise to read the proper way to give credit. I missed it on your __annak site, but saw it a few minutes ago. You do such beautiful work that I want to make sure I give credit where credit is due.

It's okay, really. I was completely lost when I first got here (still am sometimes ;) But you get used to it. The only thing to change in the credit is, instead of __annak put <*lj user="__annak"> (minus the *) That way someone can just click on it to get my graphics journal. Usually I wouldn't bother, but the double underscore... no one warned me that so many people would think it was just one :/ Makes things very confusing.
