Having spent a day in Oro Valley looking at homes, husby and I decided to have a talk about our decision to move north. It turns out he really wants to stay in Vail because we're really keyed into the community and he doesn't mind the commute because its on the bike. And as much as I've come to adore it here, I'm still concerned about the commute for him. He's the only one who knows what he can handle.
For my part, because I hate learning new communities (I suck at geography and get lost often), I'm pretty comfortable here: I have an Internal Medicine doc, a physical therapy office, nail salons, etc. not to mention new friendships. And the Legion, from which most of our friendships are starting from. And of course the veteran/active duty AF community, also having quite a few contacts. Including Cory, who is turning into a Jewish buddy, who needs lessons in Jewishness!
The builder we're thinking to go with has two communities in Vail (or nearabouts, since we're right near the Tucson city limits, which is actually a rural desert city limit). The house plans have a certain universiality, but they do differ a bit. And until I see them in person, its hard for me to visualize things in space.
We're looking at
this community and this
one.
How, if at all, this will affect the Outer Grove/new coven is still up in the air.
