Yuletide! (1/2 today)

Dec 27, 2006 18:52

Yay! I have finally had time to read, study and generally enjoy my posted
yuletide story.

It's A World Engendered: a musing piece on the role of Anafiel Delaunay from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series. Reflective, elegant, and clearly written by someone who knows and understands the canon (I suspect, better than I!) it reads as if one is sat by the fire with an older Anafiel, listening to him discuss his life.  What I really like about this is the subtle quietness to it - I think I'll be reading this a few times, over and over, and suspect I will find more each time I read it.

Yuletide Santa, thank you.

I have had time to read very little. But late last night, Duende (Master and Commander)., which I liked it very much - an AU that shouldn't work, and does. Moreover, there is Heyer slash! And Robin Hood! And Austen! And frankly, I really, really want to go and hang out there in just a few minutes, so I shall be brief.

So, thank you. To
painless_j for the christmas card, which I liked very much - almost Bruegel. To
cthonus and
djin7 for the presents on LJ - thanks guys!
