Well, that little interview I planned with Kanji today didn't quite turn out how I expected. He really didn't know much regarding Ms. Yamano or Saki Konishi, nor did he notice anything out of the ordinary around the shop before or after Ms. Yamano's murder.
Although... he was certainly acting a bit strangely today, for some reason. More nervous than

Yeah, sorry bout that... "Impeding" my ass.
W-wait! He's missing? Like, missing-missing? Fourth verse, same as the first...

Yes. Kanji's mother put in a call to the police station around 8:00 pm this evening saying that he failed to come home from school. He and I parted ways around 6:45 pm. That means, he disappeared between those two times.
Do have any information that might lead to his whereabouts?

Yeah, but an insane asylum doesn't sound like the best way to spend my weekend... Sorry. I don't have any idea. I'm sure he'll turn up in a few days. Was he acting really... Un-Kanji-ish earlier by any chance?

As a matter of fact, yes, he was. When I met him outside the school gates this afternoon, he seemed particularly on edge. Nervous. As we began talking, the feeling that something was a little off about him persisted. So, I asked him straight out why he was acting so odd. At that point, his actions and behavior suddenly changed. He became unnaturally wooden and closed-mouthed. I think it was in reaction to the fact that I called him "odd". This is just a guess on my part, but I think he may have some sort of complex about being thought "odd" or "strange".
((And there's your hint for Teddie!))

Huh, that's weird. I didn't even know he cared about what people thought.

Everyone cares about how others perceive them, to some degree. Some are just better at hiding it than others.
((Yeah, because you'd TOTALLY know about that, wouldn't you Naoto?))
Reply
Well, you shouldn't hide it. It's bad for you.

Perhaps Kanji-kun wasn't kidnapped. Let's say that you did meet up with him after we parted ways. He was in a distressed emotional state, which could possibly have been exacerbated to the point where leaving the area was his only option.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. If the suspect was able to haul a dead body up onto a television antenna and a telephone pole, that would suggest someone that's very strong. I'm not sure even Kanji-kun could handle someone like that.

Oh right. I forgot about the hauling part. Yeah... Well, I guess you're right. But uh, he's probably fine. I mean. This is Kanji we're talking about.

Still, I can't help but worry about him. Regardless, I can't let my personal feelings interfere with this case. I'll be making my rounds at the entrance to Junes, so should you have any more information regarding his whereabouts, please let me know.

Actually! You really don't need to come down to Junes. We've got it covered. I'll let you know if I hear anything though. Or see someone suspicious. Or whatever.

Junes is a popular meeting place and serves as a hub for local activity. It's the best place for me to meet and question individuals about Kanji-kun's whereabouts.
((Yeah, in game, you have to meet Naoto on a Thursday or Sunday in order to get the clue which allows you to access Kanji's dungeon.))
