File 10 - Interview with Kanji Tatsumi

Sep 18, 2009 19:26

Well, that little interview I planned with Kanji today didn't quite turn out how I expected. He really didn't know much regarding Ms. Yamano or Saki Konishi, nor did he notice anything out of the ordinary around the shop before or after Ms. Yamano's murder.

Although... he was certainly acting a bit strangely today, for some reason. More nervous than ( Read more... )

Can't say I'd exactly miss having him around but... you think something's up?

Well, yes. It's just a feeling, but...

Kanji's mother says he often disappears like this, but even she has a bad feeling. I can't very well discount a mother's intuition.

Yukiko-san also disappeared during daylight hours. Right at her own home, too. This can't be a coincidence.

Yeah, you're right. But we better give him a day to show up before we start freaking out too much.

I understand.

Though, I would like to question Yosuke Hanamura, as I believe he might know something about all of this. It seems a bit suspicious that he would be following me while I was questioning a potential witness.

I dunno, that kid seems a bit odd anyway, maybe because of all the flak he gets for being the Junes boy.

Perhaps... We haven't actually spoken since--Never mind.

In any case, he might have seen Kanji-kun after we parted ways. If that's the case, then he would be the last person who saw Kanji-kun before he went missing. There could be a vital clue in his witness testimony.

Oh, that's a good point. Do you want to continue asking him yourself? If he doesn't cooperate, I can drag him down to the station and see if that helps get him talking.

I'll continue to interview him here, sir.

In the meantime, you can keep me informed of any new developments at the station. Divide and conquer, yes?

All right, I'll do my thing, you do yours and we'll see what we come up with.

I suggest keeping an ear open for any reports about the delinquent biker gangs. If he really has left home of his own accord, he'll probably be looking for more gang members to take his frustrations out on.

Let's both do our best!

More gang trouble to look forward to, huh...

Of course, we'll get the guy soon enough!

That's only one possibility, but at least it's something to go on. We need to cover our bases.

It's only a matter of time. After all, there is no such thing as the "perfect" crime.

Of course. I can't imagine him going too far anyway, he's never been out of Inaba so far as I know...

Absolutely right. And a guy like this, he's bound to slip up sooner or later.

Well, not without the aid of a world-hop, anyway. He and I spent some time at the beach together, during that community wide event.

Precisely.

There's not much more I can do tonight, as everyone is at home and in bed. I'll make sure to get up early and head down to Junes. Let's make sure to keep in touch.
