Okay so I know this is really lame but I want to get it off my chest because it's been really bothering me for a while.
My Chemical Romance has been one of my favorite bands since 2005. They helped me acquire what is known as taste in music and I don't ever regret loving them. But let me get into recent news.
Just today they came out with their new album, Danger Days. You know that accompanied with this is a tour. Obviously. Well they had scheduled a stop here in Arizona in Tempe which I almost shit my pants over because it was finally not in an arena (as much as I enjoy arena shows). Then they took it back saying that it was a scheduling error on their part because they are currently boycotting Arizona over our ridiculous SB1070 bill. They are not the only band I like to do this.
I feel fucking betrayed, to be honest. It's not as if EVERYONE in Arizona believes in the bill or even wants it to happen but that's how it is. I didn't get to vote on this shit, otherwise I would have voted a big fat fucking NO. I understand their thinking in wanting to protest it, and a large part of Arizona's population is as well. But this is ridiculous.
I have spent money on all of their albums and other shit and seen their shows six or more times. And now I am repayed with this? This is bullshit. And you just think of the age group of people that go to their shows. You think that they agree with SB1070? Fuckin no. They don't. A bunch of fucking kids who can't even vote. THAT'S THE MAJORITY OF THEIR FAN BASE.
We are being "punished" for something that's completely out of our control. I won't be buying their new album, thank you very much. I'll download it and most likely love it, but I'm not spending my money on a band who's priorities are not in the right place.
