Busy, busy, busy.
Friday was an up and down kind of day. It started with an argument and weirdness, and, as Kelly would say, "It just wasn't happy-shiny." Work was slightly stressful when I got there, mostly because half the registers didn't work and my scanner thing was being stupid and weird. My nerves were shot already. Then Freddy showed up. lol. It was good to see him, but for some reason I was shaking and nervous. Can't really explain it. We sort of talked about our argument, apologies were said, and I got a couple of hugs, which helped a little more than they hurt (that's a whole other complicated thing, but I was still glad to get them). I was glad to see him though. He stills looks good as an OC. His old Actionlink days were surfacing, too, which was funny. They put one of the new guys, James, with me to train. He wasn't interested in learning, he was hard to talk to and I didn't want to be wasting my time. Given the opportunity, I did go-backs for Mike, then helped him at customer service. Trying to close was a nightmare. The last customers left at 9:52. We close at nine. *pulls trigger* But, Mike has most of the drawers cashed out, and the last one open was the one I was working at customer service, and we closed everything out in like 12 minutes. That was a record in itself. I finally got to leave, and met up with Chris at Starbucks, where we talked til like 1 about all kinds of stuff, then I went home and went to sleep.
I got to work at 9 the next morning, and all day I trained another new guy, Yogeshwar (or Yoge). He was cool, really interested, wanted to learn, engaged in conversation and asked question, which was nice. There were a bunch of things going wrong that day, but that's actually a good thing when training someone. The day was VERY long, but not bad. After work, I ate dinner at home and got ready to go out. Chris picked me up and we went and saw the Great Raid in Tampa. Very good movie. Long, but very good. We got something to eat, then I got home about 1:30, much to my mother's frustration, for the second night in a row. Whatever. Anyway, he and I had a good time hanging out and just talking. Not a big deal at all. The he smelled sooooo good, which is just not fair.
Sunday (yesterday), I woke up, went to church with my family, Mathew, Joseph and I left and went home for a few minutes before turning around and heading to the Channelside IMAX to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. That's expensive, by the way. But we had a good time. Though I lost, then found, the keys. We headed out and I showed them where Chris had shown me that he worked. There is a huge dragon outside made of chainmail, and metal plates and motherboards and all kinds of random things. It's really cool. Turns out Chris was there, but I didn't know. We drove to the mall because Jenny Gilbertsen is in from Alabama and didn't bother calling anyone. I saw her for a few minutes and talked. That's about the only time I'll probably get to see her; she leaves Tuesday. Lame. Anyway, I left the headlights on in Arpie's car, and it killed the battery, so he had to come jump start us. Grrrr. I finally got home, and was home long enough to find directions and relax for a few minutes before I kidnapped Lacy and took her out for her belated birthday celebration.
She and I had a great time. One of my first memories with her family was us randomly loading up to go watch the sunset on Nokomis beach, then going to eat at a fabulous little Italian restaurant called Mama Leone's. Since she's leaving and all, I thought it would be kind of neat to go relive that. We barely made the sunset because we sat in traffic for an hour and a half (not cool, but it turned out okay). The sunset was MAGNIFICENT. We walked along the beach and played in the waves and talked about school and how things change. We sat on a little boardwalk for a while and watched the incoming lightning storm. That was STUNNING. We left the beach and headed back up the road to try to find the restaurant. Everything we were doing was a surprise, so she didn't have a clue where we were going. She actually spotted the restaurant before I did, which was cool. They've upscaled and are no longer a mom and pop's kind of place, but are a fancy dining kind of place. The food was still amazing. Best alfredo anywhere, we've still decided. I had stuffed shells, and I just couldn't stop eating. Sooooo good. Our drive home was a lot easier and only took us an hour instead of two and a half. We had a really good time, and I think Lacy really enjoyed herself and was pleasantly surprised, which makes me happy. I was glad to be able to do it.
Chris called on the way home, so I called him back once I was home and settled. We talked for like two hours. I don't even remember about what... Good times though. He's a fun friend. I slept for about 7 hours, helped mom with something, and I've been online since 10. I work 2-10 tonight. I plan to sleep long and hard. I don't work Tuesday or Wednesday, which is cool. Ummm... that's about it, I guess.
I have to unload the dishwasher, so peace out. Have a good day everyone. Come visit me at work.
On two random notes, before I forget, 1) Monica Miller is no longer my roommate. Apparently she transferred out. She wanted a better dorm, like she had last year, which is cool. I now have no clue who my roommate is, and chances are I won't know til I move in. If I'm lucky, I won't have one. Sweeeeet. 2) I just randomly got a voicemail from Susan Brown. She wants to hang out this week. Cool.
