Band practice was pretty bad today. I had symphonic band during the last block of the day and then a winds rehearsal for marching band from 2:40 - 5:20 during which time I was constantly playing. Plus, I had a cold sore from playing at Friday night's game so right now, my lip is in really bad shape. That out of the way, last week and this past weekend went pretty well. Monday was labor day, so there was no school AND Florida State beat Miami (of course). The rest of the week was spent doing nothing but going to school, going to band practice, doing homework, and going to bed. On Saturday, I FINALLY got to sleep in. I was so tired from Friday because after the game, I went to IHOP with Kim and Gabby (two of my friends who are also in the color guard) and those two are crazy! Anyway, after I got up Saturday, my parents and I went to LOWE's to get the things they needed to remodel their closet. I had already started "The Magician's Nephew" , which is the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia series, so I at least had something to do. Lowe's was interesting because my parents spent about 600 dollars on closet accessories and they were expecting to get 10% off the purchase until my Dad realized he had forgotten his Lowe's card!! So we had to go to Customer Service to get his account verified and then buy everything. On the way back from returning the cart that we had used to the store, this weird old guy stopped me and was like "Excuse me, you with the silver/gray shirt....Do you have anything to load these bags on?" ......Umm, I didn't know......"Don't you work here?!?"....No, this is my marching band shirt....Then he gave me this weird look and stalked away. Yeah, kind of creepy. Anyway, later that night, my Dad was still hard at work in the closet so my mom and I went out to a place called 5 & Diner and got to see this really cool car show that they host every Saturday night. It was alot of fun and we got to see some really cool cars.
Sunday, I slept in REALLY LATE again and my mom and I had planned to do something out in town but I decided to stay at home and get a headstart on my crazy amount of homework. I started at 2 and worked non-stop until 6. By that time, I was STARVING so my parents and I went to Bob Evans for dinner. When we got home, I spent the rest of the night finishing up my book.
Finally, today makred the beginning of another week at school. The school days are pretty easy, it's just the extra long band practices EVERY DAY after school. I know it'll start getting easier as we put more stuff on the field, I guess I'm just too impatient.
