Update #2

Well, it is our last day in NYC before heading out to Europe... Haha, sadly enough, I think I am ready to get out of here. I woke up at 11 today, and we all met up at around 11:30. Pretty soon we were off on the subway to the financial district. Got to see the Brooklyn Bridge and then Wall Street. I have to admit Wall Street was certaintly impressive. Between the high rise building were tight streets with people clad in black business suits. Haha, we went to the southern tip of Manhattan to see if we could get on the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. But like anything, there was a gigantic line, so we instead settled for the view of the statue. Not as impressive as one would have thought, but interesting nonetheless. Then we were off in Battery park, and to our destination: the World Trade Center site. There was no fancy memorial or viewing area, just signs showing the plans for the Freedom tower. To be honest, the sensitive side of me was a little bit emotional. It was hard to believe that all those people died there so recently. Mike pointed out the last bit of structure left from the original building: stairs. That was certainly very intesting, but again, there was no memorial, just the bustling of construction workers and equipment. We soon boarded the metro once again for Times Square. We had already been there yesterday, but we decided to go into some shops this time. I actually bought something, a communist hat as I like to call it, in the Element shop. After that, we broke off from Mike and Anthony, and my father and I went to the top of the Empire state building. It is mind boggling the amount of people in this city. And yes, the view was extraordinary. We just got back from some awesome Turkish food and a movie... Tomorrow we are heading for Vienna, Austria... So, I'll update later!
