Do you know what's sad? Even the fruit at commons doesn't taste that great. I mean, how can you screw up an orange? But, those master chefs at RPI seemed to find a way to make an orange not taste like an orange at all, but rather a fibrous lump of orange-esque material.
But, I digress.
The end of the semester is here, and I have not blogged but a single time. Alarming? Not really, I never was a big writer, although I always secretly wished I was. Kinda like how I always wanted to secretly be a singer. Except it's much more feasible for me to be a writer. I just need to actually put effort forth. Things at the old Polytech are.....things. Well, I could go much further in detail, but who would want that? Here are the highlights:
1. Lyle
2. Classes suck
3. IEA is boring, chemistry is awesome
4. Orchestra is terrible
5. I suck at bassoon now
6. Pep band is fun!
7. I suck less at trumpet
8. Lyle
9. Ski team
10. Traveling plans
11. Hockey (<3)
12. Streetlight Manifesto
That doesn't explain a single thing, although, it's sets up for quite the "make your own adventure" type story. Imagine! You can pretend that I took classes with Streetlight Manifesto, but they sucked, and somehow I became worse at bassoon end the end. That is probably a lot more interesting than any single detail I could elaborate on.
On the bright side, classes are almost over. As of right now, I really don't have any "real" work until next Wednesday. Not that I would waste the next seven days sitting on my ass being unproductive (but Sara! isn't that the norm?), since next Wednesday is finals and such, but, I won't be nearly as busy. Woo. Saturday, there is an orchestra concert, and members of the RPI community can listen to us butcher Leroy Anderson's Christmas Festival, among other non-holiday favorites. This could be the one time that I argue that wind ensemble was better. Well, for that particular year, at least. Ugh...let's not go there. Saturday is also going to be fun for reasons need not be discussed on blogger/livejournal/where ever this may end up.
I want to go home, but I don't.
I want to go home because I really enjoy being at casa Melikian. I don't want to go because it means that at the same time, Lyle is boarding a plane to Minnesota, and I won't see him for three weeks. Yes, I know, "Three weeks is not a long time!", but, three weeks in Wilbraham is a long time. Especially when I've kept busy here. Uh-oh, this is setting up for another list:
Things to accomplish During Break
1. Ski
2. Get back in ski shape
3. Hang out with Jess, Jordan, Kate, and Pat
4. Ski
5. Spend ridiculous amounts of money on things I don't need
6. Ski
7. Actually play bassoon/make reeds
8. Visit Margy/crash wind ensemble
9. Noho, please?
Okay, enough with the lists.
Well, one more
Things I will Miss During Break:
1. Lyle
2. Lyle
3. Lyle
4. Pep band
5. Lyle
6. Learning (GASP! Yes, I do enjoy it, actually)
That was the last one, I swear.
Hopefully, all the things on the list will keep me busy enough, even though I won't be pumped full of Andre, and other delicious things, while being away from my other half.
Blog, we will meet again soon.
