Last Saturday my mom came to visit me in Nanaimo which was a nice surprise. She hasn't come up to Nanaimo by herself since she helped me find a place to live in Nanaimo last year. It was a beautiful weekend so I suggested we go up to Protection Island for the day. We had lunch at the Dingydock Pub, and strolled along pirate lanes and enjoyed the sunshine. We also went to the Lighthouse Bristro for dinner. Thank you Mom for treating me to two nice meals.
But Mom, you left your hat at my house. It's found a home perched atop our statue who has taken a liking to clothing and has begun to adorn herself with more each day.
I finally went to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it took me forever to get around to seeing it. Normally I see such movies on the day they come out, but I couldn't find anyone to go with until this Friday. Even Adam from work apparently had trouble getting to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and didn't get to see it for 24 hours, they missed about 4 showings before they finally got to see it. Click on the picture below to read what I thought about the movie.

I'm going to go see Fireworks with Heather and her friend Elene tonight which should be fun. Apparently next weekend is a long weekend, and I am always the last one to know of such things. I have no idea what I'm doing a week from now. Ha. I'm learning new things at work every day and I'm still having fun. We had a BBQ this week with the entire staff, and everyone got a T-Shirt with the VIREB logo on it. My shirt fits really well, something of a rarity with most of my clothes.
