Arrr, Pirates and Skulls!
Miss smilla02 you have no idea how much the Halloween skull (see user info) absolutely delights me. I'm in the middle of this book about 17th century pirates called Brethren: Raised by Wolves by W.A. Hoffman. It has them living in a matelot society where they are paired off with other pirates in a contract that was more binding than marriage at the time in that it was based on equality and basic rights for all. The two main characters are Will and Gaston, both cast off sons of noblemen, both lonely and both more than a little mad after past abuses. Despite some physical differences I wasted no time casting them in my imagination with Milo Ventimiglia as Will and ::grins giddily:: Jesen Ackles as Gaston complete with black painted eyes. When I saw the skull the first thing I thought was, Gaston would love it! I hope it's obvious that I love it, too. Thank you, sweetheart, for thinking of me.
