SPN RPS AU Rec and a Big Thank You!
Just peeking out from under the wet blanket I've taken to lately to rec a really wonderful SPN RPS AU (the most wonderful alphabet soup - evah!) I cannot for the life of me explain why am so totally OK with RPS when it comes to these guys. I think a lot of it has to do with that there are people that people get together with and then there are the ones you wish they would get together with because it would make both of them happier in the long run if it wasn't for heterosexuality getting in the way. That said, if you haven't already, you have to read And It's a Whole New Ball Game by kestrelsan. It simply does not matter if you love baseball or not this story is worth rereading several times over for so many reasons. Just to name a few there's the slow build up of their relationship based solidly in friendship, the hilarious asides in Jared's speech, "...and he was addicted to it. In a good way, not a heroin way", Jared heading up the losing-est team in Fantasy Football and Jensen and a bee. No small thing either is the believable and astute characterizations with Jensen reserved and just a little flinty but still so funny and Jared amiable and open without the goof-card being overplayed. The only thing missing is Jeffrey Dean Morgan ::bwhahaha:: but that's my kink and does not reflect on the overall awesomeness of the story.
Also no small thing is the warm generosity that you showed me in my last post. Whenever I whine all over you like that I half a expect a mass de-friending but I am so very grateful that you didn't. I still can't entirely shake the blahs but I'm hoping if I flirt with it a little it'll get nervous and go away. It's worked in RL before - even when I didn't want it to. Thank you so much.
