Questions posed by The Belfabulous one- http://belfebe.livejournal.com

Whooo hooo!!!!!
  1. If you could go back in time ten years, what would you say to the younger you?
  2. If you could date a woman in history, who would you pick?
  3. Is there a conversation that you would like to have with someone you haven't seen in years, and who might that person be?
  4. Who has been your major inspiration in life?
  5. Do you cook?

Ahhh, you’ve riddled me these questions Five, so now I shall answer them with words that strive.
  1. Well, thinking back 10 years, I think I did meet myself as I am now.  I told myself to go back to school and get the damn degree.  I also told myself that my friendship with the Wink would probably be the most important friendship I’d ever maintain. I also told myself that life will be “interesting.” Embrace it, Enjoy it, Revel it, Own it.

Now in addition to those things I now think that I should have told myself to spend more time with my parents, and to be very careful of crazy people that don’t like tomatoes (except for Scott… he’s a keeper)
  2. First thought would be Helen, since she was “of Troy” and that she was a woman whose beauty launched a war.  This makes me think that she must have had a beauty that was far deeper than her skin would show.

Another thought is Joan of Arc, as there is something quite enticing about a woman that could kick my ass.

Lilith would also have been entertaining as she was supposedly the first wife of Adam and in many cases considered to be the mother of demons, vampires and more.

However, in truth, I think I’ve lucked out in dating some of my favorite people in history and wouldn’t trade those in for anyone else… Well a couple of people I would trade in, but the majority of the people I’ve dated are very good friends of mine now, which is perfect.
  3. Tough question.  I try to not let my thoughts and desired conversations go without discussion, but I’d have to say that there are a few conversations that I’d like to have with my parents.  I still talk to them every now and again, but there are some things that I’d like to know that I can’t find out by talking to them in the manner I do.
  4. In a lot of things, I’ve realized that my father had a profound presence in my life.  When I was 6, and riding down the street on my bicycle, the kids across the street were throwing rocks at me.  When I went to my dad, he told me to go talk to them.  He was able to convince a scared 6 year old to go talk to the group of kids that were throwing rocks at him.  I did… and they became my best friends.  It turned out that they weren’t throwing the rocks at me… but my wheels… and not to hurt, just because they were bored.  We got into lots of other trouble later on in life, and I learned a lot about cross-cultural life and developed a LOVE of lumpia. (the one food I miss the most in this world)

My father also taught me a valuable lesson when we were buying something in a store and he just started to talk to the cashier about something random.  I looked at him in annoyance and said, why don’t you just pay for the stuff and go? They just want to do their job and not be bothered… He looked down at me and just said, “You’ll learn.”  I did… and now, I can’t NOT talk to people if they are there.  Perhaps I learned too well.
  5. I do, but not as much as I would like.  I have very interesting takes on cooking and think of most things as experiments.  I love doing breakfasts, but I’ll be the one that does the, “I wonder if…” and then fry an egg, over easy in the middle of a pancake. I’ve made some wacky breads over the years too… but not in a long time.  I’ve made pancakes with vanilla ice cream when I ran out of milk… it didn’t work well.  And I’ll do more.

Hmmmm, perhaps a dinner party of experiments should occur.  Where everyone brings something that they’ve never made before, but always just wondered how it would do.
