another entry about buildings and food

There is something to be said for being the only one eating in a quiet restaurant. Especially when the food is good and the light coming in the windows is just right. Especially especially when there are strange humans on the sidewalk and very very delicious rice pudding on the buffet. The world seems almost ok.

I had a heart attack today when i realized that Samwise got out through an open window. Luckily i wanted to pet him before i went to work or i wouldn't have noticed he was missing. I'm just glad he didn't wander off too far or out into the street where the terrible drivers drive fast and often times don't feel bad for hitting small animals. I carried treats outside and shook the bottle and he came running from around the corner of the house, fur standing up on his back, his tail a big puff of fur, all dirty. Something shook him up. I'm glad he is safe now though. phew. that's one of my worst fears, to come home and see his lifeless body on the side of the road. oh cruel world.

work was a trial. someone drew horns and fangs on the face of Bill O'Reilly on his new 'CHILDREN'S' book display. i wonder who it was (hmmm)? found a national geographic from 1995. saw an old woman wearing two different color shoes of the same style. i thought that looked really cool. i think i might start doing that. this customer who reminded me of hunter s. thompson was standing and staring at this display table full of books and remarked to me as i walked by, "Are these all different books? Holy shit how many books are there? Someone wrote all these? There are SOOOO many books in here?!" Apparently he thought one person wrote all of these books and i had to explain that, no, all these books were written by different people. Sometimes i really love my job.

I have to go read Hobbes now. Please let it end soon.

Avenues. Mac's Bar. Tomorrow. 9pm. But sadly no Hot Pink Karma. Let the tears flow. Instead we have The Rock And Roll Bass Guitar, Rebreather and Victory At Sea.
