Hello again! Turns out that I totally forgot to post another recipe last week what a surprise, so hopefully I'll remember this week.
But today's recipe is:
'College-Life' Fried Rice
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked rice (I like brown)
- bell peppers, cubed
- 2 chicken breasts, cubed
- half a red onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- sprouts
- 1/2 inch of minced ginger (or a tsp. of dried ginger)
- salt/pepper
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. hoisin sauce
Directions:
1. Saute the garlic and onion for a few minutes in a wok/large frying pan. Trust me when I saw large, you want everything to fit into it.
2. Add the chicken and cover with a lid. Let the chicken cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side.
3. Add the bell peppers, ginger, and sprouts. Saute until chicken is completely cooked through and slightly browned.
4. Add the rice, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce. Saute everything together for a few minutes.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste. I also recommend Sriracha sauce if you like it spicy.
* The soy sauce and hoisin sauce measurements are approximate. Feel free to play around with different ratios until you find one you like. Also, as my friend says, you could just add store bought stir fry sauce. But I prefer making my own since in the end, it's much cheaper. (I steal all my sauces from my dining hall at school ^_^)
Enjoy!
