Paradise review

Last week I went to the Paradise rock club for the first time. They have a lot of bands I would like to see live, so I wanted to check them out as a venue before I bought 3 months worth of tickets.
Here's the rundown:
+ having an actual person answering the phone
- the person telling me I could use a birth certificate as an ID without mentioning that I would need an additional photo id
+ close to public transportation
+ being close to restaurants
- the affiliated restaurant next door not being open at 6 pm.
+ accepting the ids I bought with me (I brought my expired passport because I suspected there might be an issue)
- $5 hidden coat check
+ multi level space
+ having seating
+ multiple bars
- not having bottled water
- making a face when I asked for a glass of water
+ having a women's room
- not having/propping open the door to the women's room
+ three stalls
- 1 stall out of order
- being dark in the stalls
+ toilet paper
- kindof dirty
- two opening bands
- canned music between the bands
- main band came on at 10 pm (doors opened at 7)
- main band only played for an hour
+ great sound system/acoustics
+ varied crowd
+ generally quiet and polite crowd
- no bottle recycling

The bottom line is that on a week night, the main band comes on too late for me. If the venue were closer to my house (it's near BU) I could go home and take a nap after work, but I don't think the timing would work well. So I'm going to give a pass on all the concerts where I have to get up early the next day. Also, I'm going to show up later.
Something I am excited about checking out at the Paradise is the monthly Boston Babydolls performance at the Lounge. I won't be able to make Sunday, March 30, but I'm going to try to catch the April 27th show.
As a side note, in checking out the Babydolls calendar I see they are performing a midnight show for women on April 12. I'm sure the people in my life have already mentioned this to me, but is anyone interested in going?
