last night was another great concert, the kings of leon. they played to a sold out crowd and we managed our way up to the front to enjoy the whole thing. the opening band, the features, was also pretty good, entertaining in any case.

but i do have the best luck in the world this week. we are standing there after the show was over and just cooling off before we had to catch the train back home and the kings' technician, "nacho", walks out and starts handing out passes to the afterparty with the band. and guess who got the last one?

there were like 20 of us in this tiny room backstage and caleb followill, the singer, is just standing there at the bar and is hooking up his ipod to a stereo and nathan is sitting over on a bench drinking a glass of wine, so i go over and sit by him and talk to him for a little while. he was born in oklahoma city too and its pretty random to meet someone from oklahoma in germany so we talked for a while. and turns out, matt duckworth, he is a huge OU fan and when you walk up onto his drum riser he has a huge ou taped to the floor so thats the first thing you see. then i told him about you (matt), my drummer friend who goes to OU and is also a fan and nathan told me to tell my friend matt duckworth "hello and you rock".

so i had to take a taxi home at 2:30 in the morning and pay 23 euros to do so and didn't go to school today. my host mom was mad. it was worth the sacrfice though
