Waiting...

I don't do down time very well, I've found. Basically, I've been sitting around waiting for 4:30 to roll around because 4:30 is when I have planned to walk to Alexander Platz. The reason I want to do this is not entirely good. So, I thought, "This is great. I'll read, draw, watch a movie, have some lunch, etc. Whoo!" As it is, I couldn't ( Read more... )

I cannot wait to hang out with you when you get back!

Don't worry so much. Sometimes I overthink things and I get really scared for no reason... almost to the point where I'm not even sure what I'm scared of. But I'll get really dizzy and "lose myself".

I find that it's only because I'm making it more than it needs to be in my mind. Don't think of it as "distraction" but instead, take control of what you are thinking of and "master" it if you will. Just get to the point where you can make yourself not be bothered by it. Instead, enjoy the thought process as just that. A process. Think about the big picture and why you're thinking things the way you are. Rationalize. Imagine what will come in the future. And then make sure you also imagine other possibilities as well. Don't dwell on just one thought.

They say that the reason that songs get stuck in people's heads is because they don't pay enough attention to them in their head, and it's just the same lyrics repeating. It's a by-product of pop music where a lot of the songs are based around a repeating chorus. All you have to do is focus on the song, and let it actually finish in your head and it goes away. Instead of constantly looping the chorus over and over, do the final closing bit and hear it fade.

Try that but with other things as well. Like I said, master your thoughts. Take control of them. Because they are in your head. I find that this works with "happy" thoughts, "sad" thoughts, and all the thoughts in the middle (especially anxiety and nervousness). *shrug*

this is solid advice. i'll try to keep things in perspective by letting go of the little bits and letting them smoosh into the bigger bits?
