It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Yes, it's Oscar season once more folks. And the bets are in. I've seen a couple so far; I've acquired my first five Oscar DVD's courtesy of my local pirate.
"Mrs. Henderson Presents" is this lovely piece about a wealthy widow who, during the very conservative first half of the 20th century, decided to put up a West End Show with naked girls on parade. Judy Dench is a shoo in for an actress nomination for this one.
"Proof" Being a geek never looked so great. Gwyneth Paltrow, Tony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhaal star as math nerds trying to look for the perfect proof. (In math, in love, in life...) Acting nomination for Gwyneth is on the way. ("HOMAYGESS" you will super love this one!)
In the next few days, I'll be watching these:
"Transamerica" Felicity Hoffman stars as a man--a transgender who just discovered that he has a teenage son from a fling. And the competition for best actress gets hotter.
"North Country". Pati si Charlize Theron sumasali din.
"Three Burials." Tommy Lee Jones directed this western which was a favorite at the last Cannes Film Festival.

"Match Point" Woody Allen's first film NOT shot in New York. And his best film for more than a decade.
"Munich" Steven Spielberg's at it again.
"Walk The Line" Acting nominations for Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix (as Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Cash)
