Well it's been a few weeks since LOML bought me a used iPad, since then I've downloaded a number of Apps for use on it and my Smartphone too. Among my favourites is the Sudoku game, and two Apps which are synchronized, "Digi-Fit" which tracks your exercises using GPS and calculates the caloric consumption which is then added to the gross volume of calories in "My Fitness Pal" a calorie tracking app which has a phenomenal volume of items in its database all designed to enable the user to monitor their calorie intake. I began using it as a stimulus to enable me to re-learn what a serving size truly is... over the years, I've completely forgotten and have become accustomed to eating portions that are about two or three serving sizes as the norm. No longer, armed with my Apps I am a new man, slightly less weight and considerably more informed about portion sizes. I know, folk are wondering what is he doing this for... the answer is because my next surgery is not too far off and I want to be at a good overall weight, one that assists recovery rather than obstructs it.
Am off work this week, as this is a public holiday, Family Day in Alberta, I thought it best to relax and share time with family, something that is hard to do when working several kilometers away from home. Next week it will be back to the stress associated with finding a new posting in our company, the open posts have been published and are being applied for now. This will be followed by evaluations, perhaps interviews and then selections with successful candidates being contacted during after March 20th. Wish me luck, there are a couple that intrigue me and which I would really enjoy the challenges of. More about that later though, for now, UK football is calling me; bye :)
