Review: Primeval Series 2, Episode 1

Jan 12, 2008 20:08

I never actually watched Primeval Series 1 on TV.

I was either dancing... or doing something else.

But Mum got the DVD boxset for her birthday and I 'borrowed' it. And enjoyed it very much. However I haven't watched it since then so my memory of it when it came to sitting down and watching the first episode of Series 2 was a little... hazy. So the recap was very much appreciated.

I found it generally believable that no one else knew that Claudia existed. (Most touching was when Connor said he believed him - not sure if I believed Abby when she said she didn't though). The new (to us) ARC is very shiny and pretty and cool.

Good:

Dinosaurs in a shopping centre.
'Are you alright' 'Argh I hate it when that happens' 'what?' 'Brainfreeze'.
Connor shooting Abby then apologising.
BABY RAPTOR.
Baby!Raptor being unexpectedly eaten.
Saying the Raptor was 'remote control'.
Jenny/Claudia - although it was bloody obvious that was going to happen.

Bad:

The kids with motorbikes were idiots.
We never actually saw Abby and Connor check on the guy who got attacked by the baby!Raptor, but later they said he was alive.
Connor suddenly seeming more willing to kill.
Too much time spent on the Helen/Nick/Stephen love triangle. (Twice in an ep = OTT).
Jenny/Claudia too obvious - I guessed it was going to be her when they said that the PR person had arrived.

OH and not so important bad, but really bugged me because I used to bowl:

WALKING ON BOWLING LANES.

That is all. Looking forward to next week. Although the worms look... ahem... well, not so sure about them.
