As a rule, I tend not to express strong feelings of confidence in myself to others -- or at least I don't /think/ I do. I have been told many times that I am extremely hard on myself and that if I just sold myself a little more I could probably achieve serious advancement. That having been said, it's easy for me to fall into the state of mind that I'm off doing my stuff but not being really sure how what I'm doing is really valued. So when something like this rolls through, I actually have to pause for a few moments to process it and actually accept that I did something good. It feels nice, it just doesn't always feel natural, somehow.
So, anyway, since reading it brought this to might I thought I'd share it with you, gentle reader. Oh, and for some context, this was sent to the team of us (about 15) who were directly involved in the integration of our support organization, systems, etc into my new employer, and was sent by the EVP we report up to.
Integration Team,
It's my pleasure to congratulate you on earning a Customer Services Pacesetter Award for Q4 FY08.
You have been selected because, as a team, you have jointly set the example for serving our customers. You have distinguished yourself in support of our Values of customer success, excellence, leadership and integrity; and you have delivered exceptional results in support of our business objectives. I truly appreciate your contributions to our organization.
As a Pacesetter recipient, your award includes a spot bonus (Customer Services employees only), desk award and a few other surprises. You'll be receiving an email within the next few days with complete instructions on how to ensure receipt of your full award package.
I am proud and honored to work with you on the Customer Services team.
