What happens in Vegas....

So this past weekend, I was in Las Vegas.  I went with Christine and we stayed with my cousin Dan and his roommate Fausto.  The purpose of the trip was to see Christine's High School's Basketball team play in a tournament in Vegas.  More on that in another post.

So one of the things we decided on doing was to see the Cirque du Soleil show: KÀ.

I had seen only one Cirque du Soleil show in my whole life...and it was Mystère.  I saw that when I was like 10 or 12 or something, and it confused me.  I was not sure at all what was going on, and in the end, I did not enjoy it as much as I should have.  I would have rather gone and played arcades for the 2 hours.  I was simply too young to appreciate the show.

But this weekend, we kinda spur of the moment bought tickets for KÀ.  And it was absolutely amazing.

I wasn't sure what to expect...but Dan was right.  The set itself was amazing.  The utilization of the stage and everything about it was fantastic.  Music was beautiful.  The athleticism and acrobatics were phenomenal.  I loved the swordplay at the beginning.  I loved the hand shadows.  I loved the intense climbing of the walls.  I loved the arrows and the swinging.  The jump rope guy got me scared for his life...and my heart missed a few beats I'm sure whenever he went airborne.  The baton twirling was spot on.  The humor was in great amounts and well timed.  The arrows flying in the beginning absolutely captivated me.

In fact, the only thing I disliked was the fireworks were too bright.

I loved KÀ.  And I suggest it to everyone.  It was amazing.  I will definitely watch it again.  Next up is Le Rêve.
