Fred and I discussed some more things considering the resistance in the car. The one thing we knew for certain that wouldn't be bugged by Wolfram and Hart. We may have worked there for some time now, that didn't mean we were stupid. We knew what they had done before we joined, neither of us could believe they'd just give up on that just because we

Closing the doors of the stairs after me I walk up to her, shifting my notes a bit in my hand. "Either that or you have a very vivid imagination." Blinking, I glance down at my notes and them back up at her. "What was the subject again?" I think I'm drifting from the topic of conversation here. Did we have a topic? Running a hand through my hair, I give her a small sheepish smile. "I guess my mind is elsewhere today."

I nodded as we walked down the hall, "It's ok, Wes." I looked at the people walking past us down the hall and it made me wonder if any of them were working for the resistance as well. Knowing, now, that Wesley works for them has made me wonder about everyone else, especially Angel and the rest of our team.
I looked up at Wesley, "Do you have the request forms for the supplies we'll need for the case we're working on?" I had the ones I needed signed by Angel, but I wanted to make sure Wesley had his. I knew Angel would sign then, almost without looking, because he trusted us, I just wanted to make sure we could get the things we needed sooner, rather than later.

"I don't need many supplies, most I can get without the help of," I wave my hand around vaguely, "them." Them, Wolfram and Hart. I really don't trust them at all. I still don't know why we came to work here, or why Angel thought that was a good idea. And I really don't know why *I* thought it was a good idea at the time.
Opening the door to the next hall, I smile at Fred as we walk down the hall toward Angel's office. At least now I have someone in this sodding building I can trust. Someone who doesn't stick her head in the sand about what's going on all around us. I just wished I knew where the rest were keeping their head.

Not much has been going on, not from me, I mean, I try to do what I can to help and ... it's just not working. There has to be some way I can get in without having one of his people trying to screw us.
"Something's up?"

"Yeah, I sent out a memo, but it's okay. It probably just didn't get to you guys. Thinking I should just hand them out myself." Grinning a little, I walk toward them. "I uh, got a phone call and was waiting for you guys ..." Nodding toward the door, I start to walk, then turn back around. "Let's go take a, uh, walk. I'm sure you all could use fresh air." Or well, fresh air conditioning. At least the windows in my car are okay and I can take a ride out in the sunshine.
"That okay?"

When he turned back around I gave him a smile, "Ok...fresh air is...always nice." We headed to the elevator, Wesley and Angel heading inside when the doors opened. I stepped aside when a female demon rushed out of the door and then followed them.
I looked at Angel and then at Wesley, "Every thing's alright...right, Angel?" I looked at Wesley and hoped that we weren't being led to our deaths.

But now that I know, I can't help but feel a little bit protective. This is why I worked alone. As much as I was very much relieved to find out that she was on...our side, that she wasn't who I thought she was. The worry I feel now, isn't that much better either.
Following Fred and Angel into the lift, I stay quiet and try act like my normal self. Which isn't hard, since I'm weary all the time it would seem. At Fred's question I look up and give Angel a questioning look of my own while I lean against the wall of the lift.

Heading toward my car, I get my keys out, flipping off the alarm and open the door, then turn around, looking at them.
"Getting in?"

He was driving awfully fast though. A little bit to fast perhaps. I've not known him to drive so fast. "Err...Angel? Where are we going?" Apparently out of the city, if the direction is anything to go by. I share another confused look, turing a tad pale as Angel rounds yet another corner rather dangerously.
"Angel," I lean forward, mustering up a small smile. "Perhaps you might consider slowing down? Not all of us are super strong immortals unlike some." Quite the contrary in fact.

Glancing over at him, I just nodded, but kept on going faster and faster. Either this wouldn't work and well, they'd die, or it would work and we'd be in another dimension with no Warren Meers. Closing my eyes as we came up to a corner, I opened them and went a little bit faster as I headed straight for the edge of the cliff, sprouting out some words. We were airborne for about a second before a portal opened and we went inside, then landed softly on sand ... on the beach. In the sunlight, which was okay because I wouldn't go up in flames.
"You two okay?" I ask and look back at Fred, then at Wesley.

I didn't want the last few visions I saw before I died to be a fiery car crash, so I closed my eyes. My fingers gripped the leather of the seat tight as I waited for the impact. After a few seconds I felt a very soft thud and I figured we'd probably taken out a bird in Angel's suicide leap.
When nothing happened and I heard Angel ask if we were okay, I opened my right eye and peeked out. We were sitting on some beach, perfectly safe and sound and not burning alive. I opened both my eyes and gave Angel a really mean look, "Angel, if you ever do something like that again...I am going to...switch your normal blood out for some human blood and then stake you when you turn back into Angelus."

Clutching my chest, I just gape at him for long moments. I could hear Fred ranting at him, but I was to busy swallowing and actually checking to make certain that I was still alive and in one piece.
"Bloody buggering hell," I gasp out, looking at Angel with wide eyes. I'm pretty sure the color of my skin is even paler then his. "Were you trying to kill us? Because if so, congratulations! You nearly succeeded. You miserable sod! Don't ever try that again."
Christ, what was he thinking this time? This really is typical Angel behavior. Just do it and then ask questions. I'm sure it made perfect sense in that illogical gell-infected brain of his.
