(no subject)
I wanted to get out and about for a while this evening, so I walked down to Merlyn's to buy some Magic cards.
From there, I checked the bus schedules to see what my options for getting to Coffee Social were. Given my location at the time and the evening bus routes in Spokane, it was quicker (and less boring) for me to walk.
Random observances along my walk:
(1) There's a engine transmission shop on Division called "The Tranny Shack" -- I giggled as I passed.
(2) The Serta store has big ol' plush counting sheep. -- I mused inside my head of dressing up like a hillbilly, going in there, and saying to a clerk, "That thar sheep looks reeeal nice. How much ya' want for it?"
(3) The reasons to quit smoking keep piling up. I spent most of my walk pretty winded and unable to breathe very deeply.
So, anyways, I get to Coffee Social. Nicola (more than a barista... she's also a friend) came out of the kitchen after a couple minutes, greeted me, and then...
Nicola: "Wow! You look really hot!"
Me: [being a smartass] "Why thank you!" [feeble smile]
Nicola: "...and sweaty."
She offered me a lift home, which I was in no shape to argue with her on, so I gratefully accepted. Hung around 'til she got everything closed up. Got my lift home.
Most days I'd've been like "nah, I like to walk". After the amount of walking I've done between yesterday and today, though? ...and with my MP3 player temporarily out of commission 'cause I left the charging adapter and my USB/mini-USB cable for it in my cubicle at work? Yeah, I'll take the ride home. ...and I'm rambling in circles now -- holy shit...
I kinda wanna pass out. ...but that can wait a bit longer.
I'm selling my 4th Edition D&D books for pretty cheap. A guy on craigslist sounds very interested in 'em. We just haven't been able to effectively coordinate a meeting to handle the transaction. Hopefully, that'll get squared away tomorrow. If so, then I'm gonna turn that money towards some nicotine patches. If not, then I might just take the money out of my available spending cash for this pay-period.
Anyways, I think I'm gonna go pass out while watching TV.
