How is it 2013? That number makes me feel strangely old.
2012 was actually a pretty good year for me. I found my footing with this job and have mostly loved the hell out of it. It was a Con.txt year, and I got to have me some
arallara. I moved into my own place, which I like very much. But aside from con.txt, I hardly did any fandom stuff at all, which I missed a lot. I didn't write a single thing this last year. So, my fannish resolutions for 2013 are going to be:
1. post and comment regularly to DW/LJ
2. finally get my old fic up on AO3
3. write something
Can't be too hard, right? I'm going to start out by doing the
Snowflake Challenge, because it seems like a good way to get in the habit of posting and talking about fannish stuff.
Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
1.
How to Be a Rock Star, by Patrick M. Stump, Aged SeventeenThis was the first story I wrote in Bandom, and I'm not even sure why I love it so much. Just, god damn, baby!Patrick, okay?
2.
Oxford Comma.
This is sadly one of the most recent things I've written and it's from 2009. Good lord. Anyway, this was a Bandom college AU that I wrote as a gift and I always meant to go back and write a lot more of this universe, but never got around to it.
3.
Another Skin.
This is kind of random, but it's a Sorority Boys story I wrote for Yuletide several years ago, and I just really really like it and the way I played with gender in it.
Aaaand, I just spent two hours reading my old fic and it's not even the 1st anymore. Ha!
