But first, a meme wherein I commit to public record facts about myself that may be incriminating! Or not!

1. I have this thing I do with books. If a paragraph doesn't end before the page does, I reread the last line several times before turning the page.
2. There are times at work when I go back to the office and double-check the proof, even when I'm already halfway to the jeepney stop. And even if I'm already sure that I've spotted all the mistakes I could possibly find.
3. My brothers and I all have RJSL for initials. My sister's initials are JRSL. My mom's initials are JSL, and my dad's initials are RSL.
4. I usually order a chicken meal with large fries when I eat at a McDonalds. I eat it "normally" when I'm with people, but when I'm alone I eat the chicken first, then I eat the fries with the rice.
5. I love drinking Yakult and I plan to do it until I'm wrinkly and ninety.
6. When I was younger than I am now, I stole about a thousand pesos worth of books from a well-known bookstore chain here in the country.
7. I sometimes wish I was the only person in the world so I can just sleep and read my books in peace.

Almost everyone I know has a blog, whether a full-blown LJ/Typepad/Wordpress deal or a Multiply/Friendster one, and it is par for the course when they talk about their personal lives. But I guess what some people fail to understand is that committing something onto a blog and not making it a private entry makes it available for public consumption.
Take, for example, the relationship of former Gawker editors
Emily Gould and
Joshua David Stein. The two had a summer fling when they were both working for Gawker. It didn't work out, and that should have been the end of it, but Stein writes about the whole deal on Page Six magazine.
What's hilarious is that Stein complains that they broke up because Gould was oversharing about their relationship on her blog -- as if publishing your story in a magazine is any less an overshare.
I've had my own misadventure with oversharing, and unlike these two, I'm keeping my mouth shut about it.

90 Day Jane
On another equally gruesome note, this girl plans to kill herself in 90 days (actually, it's now down to 82) and she's
blogging about it. The jury's out on whether this is a viral marketing campaign or if she's truly going to kill herself in the coming days. I am morbidly fascinated at whatever way this is going to end, although one important point has been raised: how are we going to know if she's already dead?
In case you're interested,
Gawker has video of her doing some clothes shopping.
