Let Me Tell You About My Week.

I had a fantastic day yesterday. Three compliments on my hair before 7:00 was a great way to start. Work was fun and I got a lot done, so that felt good. And photography class was awesome! We had to bring in some of our pictures, and I got loads of really helpful advice on how I could have made the shots better as I was taking them and on how I could improve them now in Photoshop. I also got a load of compliments, so of course that made me feel great. The day ended on a good note, too, visiting The fontosaurus and his cats. I'm still trying to find a way to sneak Scout into my pocket and kittynap him. Oh, also, some emo kid called me a hater in a LiveJournal community yesterday, which led to a good hour of giggling on my part.

Today has been fabulous so far, too. I found a purple turtle neck I'd forgotten I owned, and it fits much better this year than last. Crazy Eddie was all about the petting this morning, even after he'd eaten his breakfast. It's nice to think that at least occasionally it's about me and not about the kitty pellets. My morning bus driver is wonderful. If I'm not at the stop when he gets there, he stops anyway and looks to see if I'm coming down the street and waits for me if I am. How nice is that? It was nice to wish him a happy Thanksgiving this morning. And I was even a little early! I've spent the majority of the morning setting up for our Thanksgiving lunch here in the office, and I'm having a blast with that. We're doing the fancy pants table cloth and place settings and all of that instead of the "grab a plastic fork and move along" thing we do for most of the other monthly pot luck lunches. I'm feeling more comfortable in my new role as Chick in Charge of Fun now, too, as this is my second month doing it. For something so simple, it's surprisingly rewarding. And the office will close after lunch until Monday morning, so I'll be making my escape at 1:00 and heading out this afternoon to buy turkey for tomorrow. Yay!

Also in the category of fantabulous is the music I've been listening to. Music has always been incredibly important to me, and somehow over the last several months it's sort of slipped out of my life. I don't know how or when it started, and I didn't realize it until this weekend when I started working on my Dance Like a Nutball mix CDs for glittertrixie, lastwordy_mcgee, and dawnshine. They were mailed yesterday, by the way. (dawnshine, the track numbers are all screwy on yours. Pretend they actually start with 1.) I've been listening to STP, Alice in Chains, Duran Duran, Black Box, Copland, Elvis, Depeche Mode, Annie Lennox, Velvet Revolver, Tom Jones & The Cardigans, Scritti Politti, Aurora, and on and on and on. How did I let this get away from me? My whole life needs a soundtrack. Elvis's A Little Less Conversation would get heavy rotation in that playlist, I think. Love that song!

So, yeah. A great week so far, made of fantastic days, and I'm a happy trista. I hope you all are too, my little FriendBots. Happy yous, I mean. I don't expect you to be a happy me. That would just be weird.
