I'VE BEEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY :)
Blimey I'd almost forgotten about this place ;)
Yep I've been away again, out of the Country even, well I've been to good old London Town ;)
I arrived in the city on Friday afternoon and after checking into my hotel and having a much needed coffee, ( which by the way was indeed a two minute walk from the station as indicated in the 'blurb'' ) I ventured out and about to see what was to be had in the vicinity. I must say I was very pleased to find we were surrounded by eateries and pubs ;) and also a couple of licensed grocers (which came in very handy).
After deciding I didn't really fancy a MaccyD or Burger King I plumped for the biggest 'Subway' I've ever seen and with that in hand a some refreshment I made my way back to the hotel to settle down in front of the teensy TV and just veg out as my companions twistedspike and willowwood weren't arriving till Saturday afternoonish.
Saturday morning I went for a wander again bought a few things and headed to the station for a Starbucks *yaaaay* Coming from the sticks where we don't have anything like Starbucks, Macdonalds etc; I'm very easily pleased with a simple Tall Latte :D
The girls sent a text to say they were on their way and after texting back the address (Twistie forgot) they duly arrived, with flashing cab lights.. lol
After telling the cabbie they thought it was me standing outside the hotel, he flashed his lights and waved at me :)
Anyway after settling the ladies into our very nice but very bijou room, we went on the hunt for food. We ended up in a super little pub where we had a lovely lunch a few drinkies and a good old catch up, it was great fun.
We cabbed it to The Tabernacle as we felt it was just a tad to far to walk and were really looking forward to meeting the rest of the gels oh and JM in concert lol
What a super venue and a lovely building, after getting 'stamped' we went upstairs to seek out friends and have a wee blether before the gig.
Really enjoyed the concert as it's nearly a year since I was last at anything JM attended, and being in a better frame of mind this time made all the difference. I tried to take some pics but gave up in the end as being on the 'short' side I was only getting other cameras and heads. So Twistie and I just stood at the back and enjoyed the performance, and after some deliberation I agreed to get some photos done with JM after the concert.
Arriving back in the vicinity of our hotel we went to one of the licensed grocers and bought some alcohol and munchies to have later. Back in the room we had a good chat and a laugh while partaking of the afore mentioned alcohol whilst trying to use the internet on our mobiles :D
Sunday was THE event day and for one thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the reading of Love Letters, I was most definitely moist eyed at the end of it. I wont bore you all with details of the day as most of you were there and know how it all went. The only downside if you can call it that, was the photo mix-up, Twistie and I along with a few others didn't get our Friday night pics and had to have another one taken with James as a replacement, unfortunately something wasn't quite right with the lighting on Sunday and Froggy said we'd have to contact him and get them sent out once he'd fixed them, oh well it's something to look forward to :D
It was really good to catch up with all the BS gels, great to see you all :D
It was also brilliant to see deborahw37 , gishlane , groping haffy , and not forgetting the wonderful spikesnn again, as always you really helped make my weekend {{hugs}}
