I think I'm ready.

Going to try Primal eating for 30 days starting tomorrow. Basically meats, fruits, veggies, minimal dairy, minimal grains. Going to journal how I feel, for better or for worse. No doubt the initial reduction in sugars, etc will be "for worse" but I'm hoping that after that initial hurting, I'll be better for it all. On August 22, I'll re-evaluate ( Read more... )

Do keep us posted! I've thought about it, but right now I'm too attached to my dairy :-P

The only dairy I'm like "OMG can't live without" is yogurt. Seems like the people who do Primal are split on "allowing" it or not. But I refuse to live without it, so I'm going with. Just going to make the switch to "full-fat, no sugar added" and add my own honey to sweeten if I need to.

Have you ever tried Greek yogurt? I think it's supposed to be higher protein than regular yogurt... or something like that. It also makes an awesome frozen yogurt.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've been wanting to. It's incredibly expensive even compared to my normal organic stuff... like $2.00 for a single serving when I get a tub of my usual for like $3.50.

I may try a serving of it and if I like it, see if I can find a recipe for making it on my own.

And I definitely have been having cravings for fro-yo... so the next logical step. :-)

Agreed about the expensive part. Since I eat it mostly as a topping to soups and beans, it lasts for quite a while. But you can catch it on sale sometimes at either Publix or Whole Food. I think I got 16 oz for $3 last weekend at WF.
