A Memoriam: Top Six Best Memories

Feb 18, 2009 21:16

Annie died earlier today, of injuries from a car accident almost a week ago. I decided that the best way I cope with grief is to try to remember the good things, even if it hurts to think about. So here goes.

6. Every year, Annie made me a birthday cake, and they were the best things in the world. She was a really talented chef. One year she made a pink one that kind of looked like boobs, and it was amazing!

5. We had this thing about 80s movies, especially Duckie from Pretty in Pink. We thought he was the coolest guy ever, even though he was kind of a stalker.

4. Freshman year, we made a short film about Odysseus for our English class. It was extremely low budget it, and no one would listen to us when we tried to direct them.

3. When we were in seventh grade, we went to Boston together. One night we got really mad at each other and didn't talk for two years. It was actually really funny, once we were friends again freshman year.

2. We were two of the whitest people in the entire world, and we always used to say that we were the whitest white girls on the West Side of Alden.

1. We went to go see Chicago for my 14th birthday, and Meta and Annie decided that they were Velma and Roxie, and I had to be Billy Flynn.

Even though we weren't close friends after high school, she was one of the nicest people I know, and was genuinely friendly. I hope that where ever she is right now, she knows how many people love and miss her.

So goodbye Annie, Rest in peace. May God be between you and harm in all the empty places where you must walk.
