Alrighty then... This is Sam with the last report in this blog of our trip to Santa Cruz
It is going to be SO HARD to leave this place, with it's ocean, it's sand, it's sun and it's beautiful beautiful culture behind. I leave so much of myself here, and I bring with me so many beautiful memories to fill the gaps.
Today, Clara and I woke up and had a great breakfast, one of our best yet! I did an amazing egg scramble, some potatoe pancakes and some jalapeno and cheese sausages, fresh fruit and iced tea, and fresh brewed coffee. We then sat down on our computers for a little while, then cleaned up the house in anticipation for tomorrow morning's departure.
After a little while, Clara's aunt Ginny came over and the three of us went down to the beach. We sat in the sun for some time, then headed up to sit on the deck because Ginny was cold. IT was so beautiful! How could she be cold?!
After we sat and chatted (And Clara and I got sunburns... :S Pretty good ones!) we went into the house to get ready for shopping and dinner. Ginny took some of the stuff leftover from the gettogether the other day home, and Clara and I took Clara's family's mental shopping list with us to the Wharf. We got stuff for her folks, then picked up some wonderful swordfish for dinner. We got to see a sealion! They were'nt there the last few times we went to the wharf, we took a couple pictures of the one lazy one we saw. We stopped in a candy store which smelled amazing, picked up some stuff for Clara's family, and then headed back home.
We had dinner, which was swordfish baked with lemon juice, butter, fresh dill and garlic, and some lemon pepper... Leftover brown rice sauteed with shrimp, a Summer Sunset Salad and a couple cans of Hansen's soda... XD Pretty good dinner, indeed!
Then, we cleaned up and headed to the Boardwalk for a final visit.
Clara slipped on a banana peel and fell down...
No, seriously. She totally did. Seriously. I am so not kidding you.
I went on the Giant Dipper with Clara, and we had the company of two adorable English boys. They were so sweet and polite! They sat behind us in our car. Before we got into the cars, though, there was a fight! A BIG fight.. some guy touched some other guys wife, and the two guys were fighting, and everyone was shouting and cursing and such... very intense.
Then came the Giant Dipper...
All I can say is...
OMGILOVEDIT.
I was SO FREAKING SCARED! But at the same time, holy fucking hell, pardon my language, it was so much fun! SO MUCH FUN. I was so scared. XD I screamed and screamed and screamed and screamed and screamed, and my legs were shaking so bad when I got off the ride, but I was laughing so hard.
After that, we went into a haunted house thing tha twas pretty neat! I jumped a few times, once when something popped out at me from a painting, and then again when there was a room full of faces that kept talking... and the floor suddenly felt like it was gonna drop out from under me. There was also one of those freaky rooms where the outside spins around and all you have to walk on is a ramp and it's REALLY hard to concentrate. The stupid thing kept shooting air into my face, so I ended up ducking and screaming.
After that, we went on the bumper cars!!! I haven't been on those since i was like... Eight? Ten? XD! I'm actually not too bad at it! I had a lot of fun, and Clara did too.
After that, we went on the Merry-Go-Round again, where Clara sat on the outside. I took some short videos of her... We really wanted to go on more rides, but didn't get the chance to do so. We visited a shop, played a game of DDR (We're both so bad at it XD) on a REAL DDR machine at the arcade...
After that, we walked out to the Point and sat down, watching the waves. The moon was so pretty on the water tonight... so pretty... It just makes it harder to leave.
At least, we'll sleep well tonight!
Love always,
Samantha and Clara
