drama already
On the way back, I got a call from my sis saying our grandmother (Nana) had a stroke that went undetected. She had told her Dr about numbness in the face, dizziness& back-pain, but she did nothing. Went to a diff Dr this week& w/in 2 minutes figured out what happened, and started ordering tests. He memory& such is all in tact, but given her history, there's some worry about her heart.
Because of this, we're going to be flying into Boston on the 1st, and returning on the 8th. This way, we can spend some time with her& enjoy the week together, but it will mean we may or may not be able to now go to NY for Thanksgiving. :\ I know this is important, and I really want to go, but it's just going to be hard to come back from. (This also means we're not going to have $$ to fix the garage, since we're using the insurance money to get there)
I feel bad, but I just keep thinking "why now?" and about how it ruined all the goodness that this vacation did for us as a couple& stress-wise bc now we're right back to being worried& stressed out about money, and barely scraping by. (Plus I snapped at the bro-in-law& owe him an apology now. I know he was hurt by it)
Don't worry, we're still working on pictures, it just might take a few days before putting them up.

EDIT: Some issues with booking flights. Apparently hitting "cancel" caused us to still be charged, but only for the connecting flight. Now we're stuck not being able to book at all. *silently screams*
